Xealth, a Seattle-based company offering digital health tools and care programs, was acquired by Samsung Electronics to further the tech giant’s vision for connected preventative care. Samsung plans to integrate Xealth’s digital health platform into its wearable technology.
The acquisition will make patient information from home health monitoring more accessible to clinicians, enabling them to provide better support and improve clinical decision-making. The goal is to bring better context and personalization to healthcare and provide a seamless wellness experience.
“Our mission from day one has been to strengthen the bond between medical care teams and their patients through familiar technologies,” Mike McSherry, Xealth’s CEO and co-founder, said in a statement. “Together with Samsung and our network of healthcare leaders, we will design a bridge between home health monitoring and clinical decision-making, with provider workflows and the patient-provider relationship at the core.”
